Welcome to the Spanish thematic network on Metal and Covalent Organic Frameworks!
The main motivation to establish a thematic network of research in the area of MOFs and COFs in Spain is that there is a critical mass of research groups that perform a diverse cutting-edge research in this field spanning from molecular modelling, gas adsorption, membranes, nanomaterials, biomedicine, catalysis, spectroscopy to analycal tools. These groups include researchers with an established high quality scientific track record, experience in research management of highly competitive European and national research projects (ERC, NMP, MSC, COST, National Plan) and experience in transfer of R & D: i.e. creation of spin-off companies (Nanotech) and collaboration with industrial partners (Abengoa, 3M, NUREL, Repsol, etc).
Our main goal is to fully explotation of all the potential of the individual groups in order to increase the visibility and quality of spanish research in the field of MOFs and COFs.
Among the actions to achieve these goals are the development of a good way of communication between the different members of the research community in order to fully exploit the human, know how and material resources of the different labs.
With this aim one of the main actions will be the organization of conferences and workshops to allow the construction of bridges to boost synergistic collaborations between the different groups. Moreover, the participation of PhD and postdoctoral students will be encouraged.
The joining efforts (synergies) should allow the promotion of International leadership of the Spanish scientists in the field of MOFs and to maximize the explotation of the possibilities of transfer of results to the technology sector.
Among the incoming events are the Simposium about MOFs and COFs included in the XXXVI REUNIÓN BIENAL RSEQ (2017), Sitges and the 2nd European Conference on Metal Organic Framewroks and Porous Polymers (2017), Delft (see below).
